The California Reinvestment Coalition hosts media briefings to help explain the ever-changing financial market in California. CRC staff and members have addressed money scams, predatory lending and other financial issues that affect low-income communities and communities of color at these briefings. We present data on payday lenders, check cashers, refund anticipation loans and other forms of predatory lending to help the press understand and better illustrate how they rip off consumers.

CRC teams up with New America Media to offer these briefings to the ethnic press across the state. But we would love to work with other press organizations as well. If you would like to organize a CRC media briefing for your newsroom or press organization, please contact:
