Stop BofA from Growing Bigger
Bank of America is attempting to buy LaSalle Bank, despite a Dutch Court's ruling against the purchase. LaSalle has a major branch presence in the Chicago, Milwaukee and Detroit markets. If BofA successfully acquires LaSalle, it will have a branch presence in all of the largest markets throughout the continental United States. Hasn't BofA gotten big enough?HELP STOP THE AQUISITION BY SENDING IN A COMMENT LETTER TO THE FEDERAL RESERVE TODAY!
ABN Amro owns LaSalle Bank. ABN Amro agreed to sell LaSalle to BofA without allowing their board to vote on it. A Dutch court will rule in July whether ABN Amro and BofA can proceed with the sale. Instead of waiting for the outcome of the court's decision, BofA has filed an acquisition application with the Federal Reserve!
DO NOT LET THE FED PROCESS BofA's APPLICATION UNTIL THE DUTCH COURT HAS RULED. IF THE FED IGNORES OUR REQUEST THEN LET THEM KNOW THAT YOU OPPOSE THIS MERGER!
The current deadline for submitting comments on this merger is Tuesday, July 3, 2007.
