Bank of America

Bank of America (BofA) is the largest bank in California and the second largest bank in assets in the United States.  Nationwide, Bank of America operates more than 5,800 retail banking offices.  In California alone, Bank of America has 956 retail banking offices – 17 percent of their nationwide total. As of December 31, 2005 Bank of America had $1.2 trillion in assets nationally and $157 billion in deposits in California. The Bank does small business, mortgage, multifamily, consumer and other lending as well as community investments and charitable grants.  It was acquired in 1998 by NationsBank and is now headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina.  Bank of America agreed to CRA commitments with CRC in 1988, 1992 and 1999.
